Christmas is coming!!!

It’s nearly Christmas, for those who celebrate it, and it’s just that tome of year for gathering with friends and loved ones to eat anyway:-)

Stuck for ideas? have to take a “plate”

sick of the same food at every single event?

Try these…..

Take a cheese platter with pickled watermelon rind…I love quince paste, but there is only so much you can eat:)

For a great starter or snack, try some gluten free bread toasted with olive oil, lay a few fresh basil leaves on top, and add some strips of Flame Grilled pickled Peppers. These look lovely, taste great and are a great healthy alternative  to deep fried spring rolls, or mini pies and pasties.

The native Hibiscus Flowers are lovely in a glass of champagne, but consider adding them the top of a pavlova, or on top of a fresh sponge cake.

Apple and Cherry Jelly is fantastic as a jam, or instead of cranberry sauce with Christmas dinner or lunch.

If you are thinking of serving a lamb roast, then the Apple and Rosemary Jelly is perfect on the side.

What are you serving on Christmas day this year? What sorts of dishes do you serve if you don’t celebrate Christmas? I love new ideas!
